About Us

RES (Reading Extinguisher Services) was established in 1985 and as a British Standards institute registered firm to BS EN ISO 9001:2008 has expanded and grown from that day developing into new Fire protection areas with the start of RES Systems Limited in 2001.

Our commitment to customer service and maintaining a high quality of work was reaffirmed in March 2008 by the extension of the RES Quality Management System to our Systems business achieving registered status to all our activities.


RES covers the South, South East and Central England. National coverage can be provided. We are approved members of the Safe Contractor Scheme and our engineers are CRB cleared and CSCS registered. Our customer base ranges from residential properties and small businesses to multinational companies, Hospital trusts, schools, colleges and councils
.

The RES is a growing success and takes every step to guarantee our customers are fully covered by ensuring our engineers are fully trained and qualified to meet the latest standards and guidance released by enforcing authorities.

The RES prides itself on being ahead and continually striving to make complying with British Standards as straight forward and practical as possible for all of our clients needs whilst minimising costs. We now develop fire safety solutions for our customers from start to finish.

Company History

RES

Reading Extinguisher Services (RES) is now in its 27th year of business and a BSI and BAFE Registered Technicians Company, all extinguisher servicing and maintenance works are carried out to the highest standard and together with our equipment location lists and advisory service to current British Standards, we continue to offer you a premium service at a competitive price.

We take on responsibility for your portable fire protection equipment giving you peace of mind that your premises is properly protected as well as being able to provide staff training and fire safety signage services.

RES aims to maintain a qualified professional service at all times with our fully trained team ensuring total customer satisfaction.


RES Systems

RES Systems is now in its 11th year and continues to develop and grow to meet the requirements of our clients.

From servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems, RES Systems now maintains emergency lighting and designs, installs and commissions fire alarm systems through our own in house engineer team.

Our fire door maintenance services have expanded into new fire door installations and large upgrading works to meet the latest requirements of guidance documents and fire risk assessment reports.

From 2006 our fire risk assessment services and expertise has grown resulting in the "competent person" being third party registered.

Our Extinguisher Engineers
Our BAFE registered technicians, led by Damian Lynch, are Chris Dormer, Oliver Selvey, John Day (New Business) and Steve Crawford (Our Fire Safety Training Specialist and Dry Riser / Fire Hydrant engineer).

Our Systems Engineers
Headed by Jon Toomey, with Mike Skilton, Graham Marks, Andy Lowe (Emergency Lighting Specialist) and Ben Curtis for new alarm installations. Mark Smith, Jamie Froude  and our new apprentice Mark Froude carry out servicing and maintenance

In the Office
As always Kate Freeman-Wilson (Office Manager), Stephanie Foulston (Client Manager and Directors PA), Denise Lynch (Credit Controller) and Jill Parker (Financial Controller) are ready to take your call.

Management
Stephen Flint carries out Fire Risk Assessments, supported by Johnny Adey (Also our Fire Safety Signage Specialist).
